After finding this product on the tomato section of the Asakawa’s Garden Compass website I ordered it online. This was a bummer in a sense, as it was not available anywhere remotely convenient in San Diego. The 24 oz. size was a reasonable $10.00 but shipping was over $8.00!

That being said, I applied it Wednesday, June 11th. The suggestions on the bottle call for every 14 days. I need to get pictures of progress up to go with this post.

The product is really for all plants/trees as it benefits soil microorganisms by establishing and feeding the existing microscopic filaments in the soil. San Diego has some of the worst soil around - if it’s not all gravel, it’s clay and rock. We have the latter.

As a post update - the product does seem to make a difference, the problem is that it’s subtle so you have to be patient. Another highly recommended additive to soils here (and elsewhere) is Seaweed Kelp, roses really respond to kelp.
